Our school is fortunate to have a solid volunteer base, so many parents, family members and staff, dedicate their time and energy to help in our children’s education. All the hours and hard work do not go unrecognized!

Marek PTO would like to show our volunteers our appreciation by recognizing a Volunteer and Staff each month that has gone above and beyond in service for our school, students and PTO. Each month the PTO VP of Volunteers Chair solicits nominations from parents, teachers, and staff to recognize an outstanding volunteer.  This is always a difficult decision — it’s hard to choose just one!

It’s easy to nominate a volunteer or staff: Just email marymarekvolunteers@gmail.com with the name or names of volunteers you feel go above and beyond, along with a short summary of why you are nominating them. Each month, a selection committee will select from the submissions.




Volunteer: CYNTHIA HARTMANN & DONNA BROWN are a new family to Marek.  This amazing mother/grandmother duo have helped with the lunch room, Harvey relief, Dot Day, Fall Festival, and Parent Orientation Nights.  That’s an amazing start to the year…we are very glad you are here!

Staff: MS. HILTON volunteered her time for each of our grade level Parent Orientation nights to watch children so parents could socialize and hear important information.  She consistently is there to help at events and always smiling.



Volunteer: ARLENE HAM devotes a full day each week to our amazing library.  She is always there to jump in where needed…volunteering in the classroom, taking pictures, and numerous PTO events!

Staff: MR. NIETO & MRS. ROBERTS are a welcome addition to Marek this year! They both spent a considerable amount of time over the summer helping PTO plan and coming up with your own ideas and continue to aid in all our activities.  Their support over our volunteer efforts make such a difference!
